For Rifts. By JohnS.
Hook: The citrus groves in the heart of the dinosaur swaps are home to small pockets of human settlements. Far away from any source of liquid or electrical fuel one settlement has created clockwork based mechanical devices to compensate. The main function of these devices is to harvest the oranges and other citrus fruits the town depends on. A few of the devices are used to fend of the more predatory dinosaurs in the area. After years of use the devices are beginning to fall into disrepair and local mercenaries (aka the players) are solicited to escort the town’s clockwork master to a more civilized centre to obtain supplies.
Line: Any voyage through the Dinosaur Swamps is a dangerous one. No doubt encounters with barbarians, dinosaurs and unstable terrain will make high adventure on the way to the destination.
Sinker: The parts required by the clockwork master are so exotic that he cannot pay the price. The players will need to think of a way to trade for, or steal, the parts in order to complete their mission.
